I like this one a lot, but it felt like a step backward at the time. Now I see it as a last hurrah to the synth-pop style of songwriting EK had mastered. After this he leapt way up into the stratosphere (Caste/Shalabast'r/Pieces of 8), all of which are more complicated and rewarding.
